I am widely known for offering delicious foods and unique drinks to my friends, and this weekend was no different. We were having a casual night in with friends and I wanted to offer a cocktail that was a little different and a little unexpected. This weekend I made Pink Lemonade Moonshine Cocktails made with Pink Lemonade Moonshine.
The Pink Lemonade Moonshine is made with a wonderful ingredient to work with, Everclear®. Everclear® is pure, clean and full of possibility. It is neutral grain alcohol which gives it the unique ability to extract even the subtlest of flavors. Its neutral flavor profile gives you a clean slate to infuse and transform however you’d like.
To begin making the Pink Lemonade Moonshine I needed about two cups of fresh squeezed lemon juice which meant lots and lots of lemons.
Once the lemon juice was ready I combined it with the water, sugar, Everclear® and grenadine syrup for the Pink Lemonade Moonshine. I allowed the moonshine to sit in a cool place for a couple of days and then used it as the base for my Pink Lemonade Moonshine Cocktail.
For the cocktail, I combined two ounces of the Pink Lemonade Moonshine with three ounces of sour mix and a splash of lemon-lime soda to create the Pink Lemonade Moonshine Cocktail.
- 2 cups fresh squeezed lemon juice (about 12-15 fresh, juicy lemons)
- 6 cups water
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups Everclear®
- 1/2 cup grenadine syrup
- Sour mix (for cocktail)
- Lemon-Lime soda (for cocktail)
- Cherries for garnish
- Put the water and sugar in a small pot and heat over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the water starts to turn clear (it does not need to boil). Stir to ensure sugar does not burn. Allow sugar mixture to cool. Add the lemon juice and the Everclear® to the grenadine. Stir together. Add to sugar mixture and combine all of the ingredients. Store mixture in glass bottles or container ( I used Ball jars) and store in a cool place.
- For Pink Lemonade Moonshine Cocktail combine two ounces of moonshine with 3 ounces of sour mix and pour over ice. Top with a splash of lemon-lime soda and garnish with a cherry.
