Time to get cozy with something warm and comforting. My Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate is like a warm hug in a mug. Pair it with your favorite Mulino Bianco cookies for the perfect treat.
Remember last week when I shared my love of hot chocolate? When I wrote that post I mentioned that I needed to write a few of my favorite hot chocolate recipes up for the blog ASAP. Today I am delivering on that promise with the most decadent Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate which I paired with Mulino Bianco cookies.
Is there a better combination than peanut butter and chocolate? It’s one of those classic food combinations that hits the spot every time. My kids love the combination when it comes to candy, cookies, ice cream and cake so I knew they’d love this hot chocolate recipe. They are hot chocolate junkies. They request it ALL THE TIME (like seriously, can Mommy get a break?), so this Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate was a total no brainer.
It’s Tradition!
Each year, my family and I grab our favorite hot chocolate of the season, last year it was the Green Grinch Hot Chocolate, and we pair it with our favorite Christmas cookies and we head out to look at Christmas lights. We wear our pajamas, cuddle up in our seats with blankets and we play Christmas music on the radio in the search of our favorite Christmas lights. There are few houses that are on our go-to list every year and we are always surprised with a few new ones each year. So far we haven’t done our annual Christmas lights tour for the year yet but I can assure you that this year our travel mugs will be filled with Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate. Don’t be jealous, I’m sharing the recipe with you, too!
Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate Recipe
To make the Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate you need a few simple ingredients and about 10 minutes.
To begin, I added 1 cup of milk and a half cup of half and half to a small pot over medium heat. I then added a half cup of milk chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons of peanut butter coffee/cocktail syrup, 1 teaspoon peanut butter powder, 3 tablespoons and peanut butter chips and 1 teaspoon of peanut butter and stirred gently until melted and combined. While the hot chocolate was warming I rimmed a mug in peanut butter syrup and added crushed peanut butter cups to the rim.
To finish the peanut butter hot chocolate I added whipped cream, more peanut butter syrup and more crushed peanut butter cups to the top.
To accompany the peanut butter hot chocolate I served Mulino Bianco cookies. Mulino Bianco is Italy’s #1 brand of cookies. These delicious cookies pair perfectly with coffee, milk or hot chocolate and come in a variety of flavors. They are a great compliment to a cozy evening at home or even for holiday gatherings.
