The weather is at a point where I am enjoying just about everything outdoors. Cooking, dining and even sipping coffee or cocktails on my patio. Over Mother’s Day weekend I made a large batch of cocktails to enjoy al fresco. Inspired by Starbucks’ Very Berry Refreshers, I made a spiked Cranberry Hibiscus Tea Lemonade Refresher featuring freshly brewed cranberry hibiscus tea, fresh squeezed lemonade and vodka for a delightfully refreshing cocktail.

To begin, I grabbed a box of Cranberry Hibiscus tea bags and boiled a kettle of water.

For this recipe, I used four tea bags which I placed in a large pitcher, securing on the side of pitcher so the bags don’t sink to the bottom, and poured about 7 cups of hot water into the pitcher to brew the tea. Once the cooled, I added freshly squeezed juice from 4 lemons.

To sweeten the Cranberry Hibiscus Tea Lemonade Refresher I added 1/2 cup of liquid sugar (you can also use simple syrup or table sugar if that is what you have or hand) and stirred to fully incorporate. I topped the mixture off with 1/2 cup of lemon-lime soda (in this case I used Sprite) before adding 1 1/2 cups of vodka. My preferred vodka for this recipe is Smirnoff No. 21 red-label vodka. I like this vodka because it is tripled distilled with a nice, pure taste making it a nice complement to this cocktail without a heavy alcohol after-taste.

A simple cocktail that is tasty, refreshing and perfect for sipping on a warm Spring or Summer day. This Cranberry Hibiscus Tea Lemonade Refresher is also a great cocktail to make when entertaining a group of people. I was able to get about 8 drinks from one batch – perfect for outdoor dining or a barbecue party.

Pick up some Cranberry Hibiscus tea, some lemons and Smirnoff 21 and makes this Cranberry Hibiscus Tea Lemonade Refresher for your next gathering!
