Is your Father the king of the castle? #CrownYourFather with a Father’s Day meal featuring grilled clams and linguine and Crown Royal Noble Collection. So happy to be partnering with Crown Royal on this post.
You know how it goes. Moms want dinner out for Mother’s Day and for Father’s Day Dad’s want dinner at home. My husband loves my cooking and will hands down choose a meal from home over a meal out any day of the week. So, for Father’s Day I’m treating my husband like a king and making him Father’s Day grilled clams and linguine.
To begin, I gathered a few ingredients as well as some fresh clams. I made my clams using a garlic-lemon-butter-wine base and adding some canned baby clams for even more clams with every bite.
I decided to make the meal a little more “manly” by grilling the clams instead of steaming them. Grilling clams is one of the easiest ways to make clams. Simply place fresh clams on the a hot grill and cook until they open.
Mine took about five minutes to open.
After the clams were cooked and the butter sauce was made, I added the clams and sauce to a large pan of cooked linguine and tossed until the linguine was fully covered.
Grilled Clams and Linguine
- 1 pound of thin linguine cooked
- 12 clams larger
- 12 little neck steamers smaller
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 tablespoons salted butter
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 cup white cooking wine
- 1 can baby clams
- 2-3 lemons
- salt and pepper to taste
- parsley for garnish
- Cook linguine according to package, set aside and keep warm. Scrub and clean clams.
- Heat grill. In aluminum disposable pan, add butter, wine, garlic, clams and juice from 1 lemon in pan and cook on grill to warm. Once butter is melted, add canned clams to pan. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Place clams directly on grill and cook until they open. Once opened, add fresh clams to butter mixture and toss. Add butter mixture and cooked clams in the shell to linguine and toss to coat.
- Top dish with fresh, chopped parsley and serve warm.
