Who doesn’t like an appetizer on a stick? Skewers are such a fun and versatile way to enjoy food! They’re like little flavor-packed bites on a stick, making them super easy to eat at parties. They are the ultimate party food and a universal appetizer for a crowd. Not to mention, they’re visually appealing. A platter of colorful skewers is an instant centerpiece, adding a festive touch to any gathering. Overall, skewers are the ultimate party food, bringing fun, flavor, and a sense of community to the table! So, when Desert Pepper Trading Company salsa challenged me to create the perfect appetizer, my Sticky Peach Mango Chicken Skewers were my go-to recipe.
Sticky Peach Mango Chicken Skewers
The star of this recipe is the combination of juicy grilled chicken and the tropical flavors of Desert Pepper Trading Company Peach Mango Salsa. I used the peach mango salsa to create an appetizer that is bold, fresh, and no-fuss—everything you want in a perfect appetizer. It is ideal for game day or a party.

PREPARATION
To begin, I blended a jar of Desert Pepper Trading Company Peach Mango salsa in the blender. Once blended, I poured the salsa over chunked chicken breasts and let them marinate for two hours in the refrigerator.
After the chicken was marinated in the blended Desert Pepper Trading Company Peach Mango salsa, I threaded the chicken on skewers and placed it on a hot grill. I grilled the skewers on medium heat turning frequently for 10-15 minutes until the chicken was cooked thoroughly. I basted the chicken with the Desert Pepper Trading Company Peach Mango salsa marinade as I grilled.
For a finishing touch, I chopped up some cilantro and sliced green onions for garnish. I served the Sticky Peach Mango Chicken Skewers on a platter with wedged limes, chips and Desert Pepper Trading Company Peach Mango salsa on the side.
Sticky Peach Mango Chicken Skewers
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast cut into pieces
- 1 16 oz. jar Desert Pepper Trading Company Peach Mango Salsa
- 3 oz chopped cilantro, for garnish
- 1 sliced green onion, for garnish
- limes wedges optional
- chips and salsa to serve optional
Instructions
- Blend one 16 oz jar of Desert Pepper Trading Company Peach Mango Salsa
- Add the chicken to a bowl and pour the blended mixture over chicken and marinate for two hours
- Remove the chicken and thread on skewers
- Pour the leftover marinade into a saucepan and boil for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently
- Grill skewers on medium heat, turning frequently for 10-15 minutes until chicken is cooked thoroughly.
- Baste with marinade as you grill.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and sliced green onion
- Serve on a platter with lime wedges, chips and salsa on the side
I love dishes that excite my tastebuds, and this appetizer does just that—plus, it is so simple. Desert Pepper Trading Company Peach Mango salsa does most of the work since it is packed with flavor. All you need to do is add a few extra ingredients to turn their salsa into something new. This sauce pairs perfectly with chicken, but you can also use it on shrimp, beef, tofu, or your favorite vegetables.
