You’ve spent the day exploring Cars Land within Disneyland’s California Adventure park when hunger strikes and you’re in the mood for a snack. The Cars-themed snack shop, Sally’s Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land, offers an assortment of food options for the hungriest of travelers. My family and I love to seek the best food pit stops when we visit theme parks and Sally’s Cozy Cone Motel has it all – but don’t expect to book a room there. The Cozy Cone Motel is just for snacking, not for sleeping.
Cars Land at Disneyland’s California Adventure is based off the popular Disney•Pixar films “Cars” and “Cars 2” and is truly a must-see for anyone visiting the California-based Disneyland Resort. This Radiator Springs-inspired land within the park is complete with replicas of some of the film’s most popular scenes including Flo’s Cafe and Sally’s Cozy Cone Motel. My family and I are huge fans of the films Cars and Cars 2 and it was so much fun visiting the park and feeling like you’ve walked straight into the film. Plus, with the variety of food offerings available at Sally’s Cozy Cone Motel in Disneyland’s California Adventure Cars Land the snacking is an experience within itself.
CHURROS – Cone #1
For our family, no trip to Disney is complete without churros. I’m not sure what we love more, the cinnamon, the sugar or how warm they are when you take your first bite but we are definitely Disney-addicted when it comes to churros so they are always a must-try for us. At Sally’s Cozy Cone Motel Churros Cone guests can nibble on churros with caramel sauce or my boys’ favorite, the cookies and cream churros. In addition to churros you can order hot chocolate (regular or cinnamon-spiced), assorted beverages or Ramone’s Pear of Dice Soda which features prickly pear flavoring topped with Sprite.
ICE CREAM CONES – Cone #2
After walking in the park all day, especially when the weather is warm, you might want to head to Cone #2 for a cool treat. At Cone #2 we found our choice of ice cream cones and floats. Flavors included soft-serve vanilla and chocolate which can be served on its own or dipped in chocolate as well as assorted fountain beverages, bottled water and “Route” Beer Floats which are served in a souvenir glass.
CHILI CONE QUESO – Cone #3
I’ve got two words for you – bread cone! At the Chili Cone Queso Cone you can indulge in a variety of breakfast and lunch offerings all served in an edible bread cone. For breakfast Sally’s Cozy Cone Motel offers a Chorizo and Eggs Cone, with scrambled eggs, chorizo, tart tomatillo sauce and fresh pico de gallo or the Southwest Scramble Cone with scrambled eggs, bell peppers, onions, roasted corn, black beans, cheddar cheese and avocado corn salsa. Breakfast is served from park opening until 11 a.m. For lunch and dinnertime snackers try the Chili Con Queso Cone which is served with beef chili, cheddar cheese and corn chips or the Chicken Verde Cone which is served with chicken and salsa verde topped with queso fresco. The bread cones are super fun and something my kids had never tried before. They’re definitely worth a taste!
Cone #3 is also a mom’s best friend because this is where you can find the booze. Fillmore’s Fuelin’ Groovy Pomegranate Limeade and Fillmore’s Fuelin’ Groovy’ All Natural Lemonade can be served with or without alcohol (vodka). After a day in the park, this is the kind of fuel we traveling moms need, right? Fill us up, Fillmore!
FROZEN CONE-COCTIONS – Cone #4
Cone #4 offers a snack with a twist with an assortment of soft pretzels, pretzel bites and twists. For a frozen twist, give another one of my kids’ favorites, the frozen lemonade or Red’s Apple Freeze a try.
POPCONE – Cone #5
Here’s the scoop on cone #5 it has popcorn, all sorts of popcorn! Flavors are some of the most tempting I’ve ever seen including Butter, Dill Pickle, Buffalo Ranch, White Cheddar, Sriracha, Pizza, or Garlic Parmesan. I mean seriously, talk about addicting! You can order just a scoop or buy yourself a souvenir bucket and have popcorn for days.
After all that popcorn you are bound to get thirsty, right? Order up a Doc’s Wild Grape Tonic, which features Sprite, wild grape syrup and wild berry foam topping. It’s a refreshing drink, comes in a cool color and that foam topping makes the perfect drink mustache. The kids certainly got a kick out of this one.
Tackling snacks at a theme park can be a bit mundane, sometimes leaving you with a limited variety. But the interesting food options at Sally’s Cozy Cone Motel are as unique as Cars Land itself making snacks just as much as an adventure as the theme park itself. Are you hungry yet?
