I partnered with Avalon Bay Air Fryer to produce this post. air fryer breaded raviolis

Have you resolved for a healthier 2015? I have a little secret. Start air frying your food.

Today, I am partnering with the fine folks at Air & Water as they launch their latest product, the Avalon Bay Air Fryer. I used the Avalon Bay Air Fryer to make Air Fryer Breaded Raviolis for a great tasting, lighter version of this popular finger food.

Now, I love my fair share of fried foods but have never used or owned an air fryer. My friend Colleen introduced me to this handy kitchen appliance and I was definitely interested – frying with air? I had to see to experience it for myself.

I have to be honest, the first few attempts with the Avalon Bay Air Fryer were not great. I completely dried out fresh-cut fries, my wings took forever and I may have struggled with a hand-sized fried cherry pie but I refused to give up. I finally landed on a recipe that I liked and will continue to experiment with the tool. Future experiments include “baked” potatoes, chicken drums and maybe a battered item.

Here’s what I like about the Avalon Bay Air Fryer:
  • Quiet. While “air frying” the device is not loud.
  • Easy-to-clean
  • Sturdy handle
  • Does not overheat
  • Shuts off when timer is up

Here’s where I’d like to see some improvements:

  • Bulky. The machine is rather big. I wish the design was sleeker so it didn’t take up so much cabinet space
  • Directions could be improved. The booklet’s directions and tips for usage are a little vague.
  • Temperature gauges on device don’t seem entirely accurate

I took a few minutes to walk you through the Avalon Bay Air Fryer. Check it out before heading to my Air Fryer Breaded Raviolis recipe.

Air Fryer Breaded Raviolis

Prep Time15 minutes
Cook Time30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 12 pre-made cheese ravioli frozen
  • 3 eggs whisked
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

  • Place the eggs, flour and bread crumbs in separate shallow bowls. Working in batches, dip ravioli in the following sequence: egg - flour - egg - breadcrumb - to completely coat. Place the ravioli on in the air fryer basket in batches (5-6 at a time depending on size) and cook on 370 degrees for about 20 minutes, turning up to the highest temperature for the last few minutes of cooking until golden brown. Serve with warmed marinara sauce.
The raviolis took on a gorgeous golden brown color.

  1. I have seen several recipes for this and some require boiling ravioli and then dredging and putting in air fryer. I would love to skip that step if it works!
