Happy Valentine’s Day! Today, I’m sharing this deliciously refreshing Honey Pom Pom (Honey Pomegranate Cocktail) with Van Gogh Pomegranate Vodka for the perfect Valentine’s Day cocktail.
How was your Valentine’s Day? Did you spend time enjoying the revolving posts on social media of bouquets, cards and other gifts? My social media feeds were filled with proclamations of love and gratitude and pictures of sweet kids celebrating Valentine’s Day in their classrooms or with their families. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I love Valentine’s Day!
I’m not a particularly romantic person so it is a little surprising to me that I like Valentine’s Day as much as I do. Yet, I find myself filled with the warm and fuzzies – perhaps hit by cupid.
Today I sent my kids off to school in cute Valentine’s Day tees (Kid #1 wore a shirt like this —>> Trunk Candy I Chews You Chewbacca Valentine’s Day Kids Tri-Blend T-Shirt (Vintage Red, S(6/7)) and Kid #2 wore a t-shirt like this —>> inktastic Valentine Boys Ladies Man Toddler T-Shirt 5/6 Black 2e60a. While the kids were at school I worked my daytime hustle which was crazy-busy.
For dinner I picked up heart-shaped cheese ravioli from a local pasta shop and paired them with a crab marinara sauce (complete with crab lump meat), salad and garlic bread. After dinner I ran Kid #1 to an appointment (with Kid #2 in tow) then met the hubby at church for Ash Wednesday. Today is the official start of Lent, and I’ll never stop being a good Catholic school girl, so we went to church. After church we came home, ate chocolate-covered strawberries and sat down to watch the Olympics. As we watch the Olympics I am writing this post. Pretty romantic Valentine’s Day, huh? See …. I’m not much of a romantic but yet I love Valentine’s Day.
Honey Pom Pom
We had a cocktail with our dinner tonight. In honor of Valentine’s Day, I made Honey Pom Poms, which is a Honey Pomegranate Cocktail, and my husband and I sipped on them with our dinner.
The Honey Pom Pom is made with Van Gogh Pomegranate vodka, pomegranate juice, lemon juice, and honey syrup for a crisp and refreshing cocktail. I was sent a bottle of Van Gogh Pomegranate vodka and the color of the liquor just screamed Valentine’s Day to me.
Honey Pom Pom
Ingredients
- 11/2 oz. Van Gogh Pomegranate Vodka
- 3/4 oz. pomegranate juice
- 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 oz. honey syrup equal parts honey and warm water, dissolved
Instructions
- Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker, shake very well with ice and strain over ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.
So, in honor of Valentine’s Day my gift to you is the Honey Pom Pom (a Honey Pomegranate Cocktail)! My kids came home with a bunch of cheap chocolate and annoying little cards and I’m giving you a super delicious cocktail recipe. Looks to me like you’re the winner today!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
