Grilled Sriracha Sesame Chicken Wings

Before I share this Grilled Sriracha Sesame Chicken Wings recipe with the universe let me preface this by telling you my husband declared these chicken wings the best wings ever.

Really.

The best wings EVER, as in ‘EVAAAAAA.

Can you believe it, such a profound statement? 

With football season in full swing there is nothing that makes me happier than hanging with my friends and family on any given Sunday, wearing our favorite team gear, eating a bunch of tasty foods and drinking a few cold beers. It’s the ideal way to end the weekend. 

I decided to make these Grilled Sriracha Sesame Chicken Wings on a whim. I knew we were going to have chicken wings and originally I had planned on traditional buffalo style but then I opened my cabinet and saw a beautiful, shiny new bottle of sriracha staring at me and I knew I had to combine two of my favorite foods into the “best wings ever” {end quote}.

What makes these wings so special is the combination of grilled, smoked flavor and the intense sriracha flavor.Grilled Sriracha Sesame Chicken Wings

Grilling is a fantastic way to prepare chicken wings. The chicken gets that chargrilled flavor and they crisp up nicely and tend to cook better than the baked version and saves some calories over the fried version.  

I combined the Grilled Sriracha Sesame Chicken Wings with blue cheese, carrots and celery to serve them up and of course we ate them while sipping on some one of our favorite beers, Modelo.

Grilled Sriracha Sesame Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs cleaned chicken wings drums and wingettes
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  • Clean drums and wingettes and toss liberally in olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place chicken wings of hot grill, turning regularly to prevent burning. Placed grilled wings in a large bowl and add butter and sriracha. Toss to cover and fully coat the wings. Once completely covered in the sriracha, add one teaspoon of sesame seeds to the bowl and toss again. Finish with sprinkling of salt. Serve with blue cheese, carrots and celery.

These Grilled Sriracha Sesame Chicken Wings are addicting. My husband has already requested them again for this week’s game and asked me to make an even larger batch this time. I can’t say I blame him – they are pretty fantastic and easy!
