We are heading to Europe for Spring Break and we had a hard time narrowing down our itinerary. We’ve been to Europe several times, visiting places like Florence and Rome (in Italy) and Paris (in France), but there are still a ton of places we want to visit. More on our upcoming trip to come (I promise) but for now, check out my Best Travel Spots in Europe and get a little help planning your next trip.
Europe is a gorgeous and varied cultural place full of worldly old buildings, art, cultural events, and delicious food. When you’re visiting Europe it’s often hard to choose what to do out of all the crazy cool places. Don’t worry, here are some of my Best Travel Spots in Europe to add to your list of destinations next time you travel there.
Best Travel Spots in Europe
Santorini, Greece
This island has many different places to see and is also very affordable due in part to the struggling Greek economy. There are archaeological sites, red sand beaches, black sand beaches, and much more. The homes are also very beautiful to see here while you explore.
Paris, France
Paris is a beautiful city to visit while you’re in Europe. It’s home to so many art museums, beautiful creations, and romantic destinations. Of course, the most iconic landmark in the City is the Eiffel Tower. There are also great cafes, tons of entertaining street performers and even Disneyland, Paris.
Vienna, Austria
Vienna is full of music and art. Visiting places like the Inner City or palace here can take your breath away. There are also great art museums here. Overall, it’s a great sight and a fun place to explore.
Rome, Italy
Rome is a beautiful example of Italian culture and Italy’s history. Top historical sights to see include the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and St. Peter’s Basilica. Italian pizza and pasta are life-changing and of course, you can’t forget the pastries and wine.
London, England
Of course, London had to be on this list! The atmosphere is friendly and beautiful, with so many sights to see. Be cautious of high hotel prices. Maybe considering a rental or just spending a day here and a night somewhere else would be best. Looking for ideas on what to do? This post might help.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
This city is famous for its coffee shops but also has much more to offer. The locals are friendly, hotels are affordable, and there are many things to see and do while you’re there. My friend, Clarissa, just went on a trip to Amsterdam with her teenage son. You can read all about her trip, here.
Florence, Italy
Another great destination in Italy is Florence. It has great museums, hotels, architecture, and cuisine. My husband and I went there before we had kids and found the entire city to be incredibly walkable and romantic. A must visit, for sure.
Barcelona, Spain
This city has a great diverse architecture scene. You can also relax on the beach or try some great local cuisine. It’s a lovely place in Spain to see while you’re exploring Europe’s unique places! We are heading to Spain in the Spring and have Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia on our itinerary. I can’t wait!
Athens, Greece
Another must-do destination in Greece is Athens. Athens is a great historical town. It has many great buildings like the Parthenon and Acropolis. The locals are also super friendly and the food is great. It’s a great place for people of all types to enjoy.
Prague, Czech Republic
Prague is affordable and beautiful. The architecture is breathtaking and gothic in style, and the locals love music. This place can be beautiful and captivating for people of any age.
Lisbon, Portugal
Lisbon has colorful and picture-perfect architecture with centuries-old buildings in the mix. The cuisine is mostly made up of delicious seafood options, and the residents are friendly to tourists. We will be ending our European Spring Break in Lisbon. On our must-dos for that trip include the Torre de Belem, Rooftops of Alfama and the Vasco da Gama Tower.
