I had such an exciting Monday!  I was invited by WMCN44 and the “Dawn” show for a live segment to whip up some fun, festive and easy holiday mixed drink recipes. The “Dawn” show is hosted by former news anchor Dawn Stensland Mendte.

Dawn examines real life issues like social trends, health, educations, family matters, and what’s hot in local entertainment.  My appearance was part of WMCN44’s blogger segment where they invited area bloggers into the studio to sit it on a live show and talk about various holiday tips. WMCN44 targets families through programming genres that include live interactive news/talk, lifestyle, entertainment, and direct response advertising. Their focus is to provide television that is important, relevant, and enjoyable to our viewing audience and the communities we serve.

The show opened with Joey Fortman of Real Mom Media talking about some of her favorite holiday toys and gifts. My segment was after Joey’s.  The show was closed by Denise Sabia of The Painted Home who created some adorable Christmas trees with fun, creative themes.  My television segment aired live but you can watch it in its entirety below and again on Christmas Eve.  WMCN44 is on Comcast (channels 794 HD or 19), Verizon Fios (519 HD or 19), Directv  (44 HD) and Dish (8165 HD or 44).

Here I am laughing it up with Dawn (thanks Joey for the picture!)

My easy holiday mixed drink recipes were a huge hit and I was really pleased with how they turned out.  I chose to diversify the mixed drinks featured on my segment.  I prepared a dessert martini, a Prosecco-based drink, a mixed drink using citrus and finished up with a layered shooter.  Full recipes for the drinks are below in the order they appeared during my segment.

In addition to the live show an additional show was taped with some of more of my favorite blogging friends including Colleen Kennedy from Souffle Bombay demonstrating so great “Cooking with the Kids’ ideas, Denise of The Painted Home and Kelly Elko from Eclectically Vintage and Beth Allen from DIY Hip Chicks.  As soon as their shows air I will be sure to update this post to include their links.  They were all so incredible and I was in such great company.

I couldn’t think of a better way to start my Monday.  I loved being on the set, behind the scenes, on TV (of course), having the opportunity to share my easy holiday mixed drink recipes and being surrounded by driven, inspiring women.  If that’s not something to toast, I don’t know what is.

Cheers to my fabulous day!
