Bananas Foster Martini

The holidays are around the corner and I am so behind. I literally have so many things I still need to purchase but in many ways I am so not in the shopping spirit. I have made a conscious effort to reduce my Christmas list as much as possible, opting for experiences with family and friends over stuff. I hate stuff.

While I should have been Christmas shopping on Sunday I opted to sit by the fire and enjoy a cocktail instead. It was a crisp day outside and I was in a cooking mood. I had so many things cooking at once, Christmas music playing from my phone and this Bananas Foster Martini sitting on my kitchen counter to occasionally sip from. It was pure perfection.

I made the Bananas Fosterini (Bananas Foster Martini) with Blue Chair Bay Banana Rum. Launched in 2013 by country superstar Kenny Chesney, Blue Chair Bay Rum is the fastest growing new company launch in the history of wine and spirits. Blue Chair’s collection of premium-blended rums were created on the shores of the Caribbean and inspired by multi-platinum singer-songwriter Kenny Chesney’s love of the island lifestyle. Each of Blue Chair Bay Rum’s five varieties, White, Coconut, Coconut Spiced, Banana and Coconut Spiced Rum Cream, is 100% beach-made and mellowed in casks at one of the oldest, most respected distilleries in the Caribbean. Blue Chair Bay Rum is available in 750ml and 1.75L bottles, imported from Barbados and bottled by Fishbowl Spirits, Rochester, NY. Blue Chair Bay White Rum 40% ABV, Blue Chair Bay Coconut, Coconut Spiced and Banana Rum, 26.5% ABV, Blue Chair Bay Coconut Spiced Rum Cream 15% ABV. Blue Chair Bay will be sponsoring Kenny Chesney’s upcoming 2015 Big Revival Tour slated for over 55 shows during 2015.

Bananas Fosterini (Bananas Foster Martini)

Prep Time5 minutes
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Blue Chair Bay Banana Rum
  • 1 oz. orange juice
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 1 pinch nutmeg

Instructions

  • Rim martini glass in a sugar-cinnamon mixture. Shake well with ice and strain into martini glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Notes

If your martini glass is large (like mine) you will want to up your liquor and juice ratios. I went with 3 oz. of Blue Chair Bay Banana Rum and 2 oz. of orange juice and kept the spices the same.
Bananas Foster Martini

I am seriously crushing on this Bananas Foster Martini. It is highly drinkable and is a little different from the typical cocktails you see around this time of year but yet still has that warm, winter feel.

Cheers!
