Strawberry White Wine Slush

Ingredients

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries you can also use frozen
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups of white wine pinot grigio, moscato or chardonnay
  • 2 cups ice cubes may need to add more to reach desired consistency

Instructions

  • Wash strawberries and remove stems, cut large berries in half.
  • Combine strawberries, sugar and vanilla in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring regularly. Mash strawberries as mixtures boils to break down strawberries. Cook for about 10 minutes until sauce thickens. Allow to cool.
  • In a large blender, 3-4 tablespoons of cooled strawberry syrup, 2 cups of white wine and ice cubes. Blend until combined and a slushy consistency has formed. Serve in a wine glass and garnish with a fresh strawberry.
