LA-Style Danger Dog

Ingredients

  • 6 hot dogs
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 6 soft hot dog buns
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 6 jalapeno peppers
  • 6 green onions
  • 1 16 oz. jar Desert Pepper Trading Company Cantina Salsa
  • additional Toppings to taste: mustard, mayonnaise, cilantro, sliced jalapeno peppers, shredded cheese optional

Instructions

  •  Heat your grill or skillet over medium heat.
  • Take each hot dog and wrap it with a slice of bacon, securing the ends with toothpicks if necessary.
  • Place the bacon-wrapped hot dogs on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the bacon is crispy and the hot dogs are heated through.
  • In a separate skillet, add a little oil and sauté the diced onion and bell pepper over medium heat until they are soft and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside.
  • While the hot dogs are cooking, lightly toast the hot dog buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden
  • nce the hot dogs are ready, place each bacon-wrapped hot dog into a toasted bun. Top with the sautéed onions and peppers.
  • Generously drizzle Desert Pepper Trading Company Cantina Salsa over each hot dog. If desired, add other toppings for extra flavor.
