Fire Roasted Salsa

Flora's Roasted Molcajete Salsa

Ingredients

  • 6-10 ripe medium-sized tomatoes
  • 3-4 garlic cloves skin on
  • 2-3 quarters white onion
  • 1-2 whole jalapeƱos and/or serranos for more heat
  • 1/2 bunch chopped cilantro
  • 1 ripe avocado cut into small chunks
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • A squeeze of lime juice

Instructions

  • Roast first 4 ingredients on open flame grill or in hot cast iron pan until black, let cool. Grind in order in molcajete, add to bowl. Add last 4 ingredients with roasted peppers, onion garlic and tomatoes and mix well. Serve with fresh tortilla chips or your favorite store-bought variety. Enjoy.
