Poconos bound in the Volvo XC60 T6. All opinions are my own.

We took our annual Poconos getaway, heading back to Lake Harmony for a long weekend of skiing, snowboarding and fun, winter activities with our favorite friends, Tina and her family from Life Without Pink. This year was a little different from other trips to the Poconos because I was out of commission due to the lingering effects of a horrible concussion.

Recovery from my concussion has been a long, difficult road. I’ve been dealing with memory issues, changing temperament, writer’s block (which is awful for someone who writes for a living) and a general blah-like feeling. It’s been nearly two months since I sustained my concussion and everyday is a step towards getting back to my normal, quick-witted self.

While everyone else was skiing on the mountain, I was back at the house making dinner for the crew and cleaning the rental. It wasn’t exactly where I wanted to be but it was where I needed be – putting my body first and taking it easy.

Lucky for me it wasn’t an entire weekend spent indoors.

During our stay, we decided to take a drive to a local waterfall for a little hike and sightseeing. The weather was gorgeous out and it was the perfect opportunity to get outside, burn a little energy and enjoy the scenery.

The boys loved looking at the gorgeous waterfalls and working through the changing terrain.

We drove to the Poconos in the Volvo XC60 T6 courtesy of DriveShop. The 2017 Volvo XC60 T6 is 5-seat, mid-size premium SUV and has been Volvo’s best-selling model since 2009.

I loved a lot about this car and was very impressed with the quality and drivability of this car. Volvo is already known for its safety but I also loved the heating and cooling features of the car (especially the heated seats), the spaciousness of the backseat and the backseat console and the ample trunk space – which was much needed for a long trip.

Plus, I loved that it felt like a car and an SUV all at once. I’m a tall girl and tend to like larger vehicles, but this one was comfortable for me and my long legs.

The model I drove had an MSRP of $52,455 and included add-ons like a Harmon Kardon premium sound system, collision warning, sports seats  and driver alert control.

Special thanks to Volvo and DriveShop for allowing me the opportunity to experience the Volvo XC60 T6.

Disclosure: I was given the opportunity to drive the Volvo XC60 T6 for one week as a courtesy.
