The time has come – back-to-school! One again we will be waking up at the wee hours of the morning all blurry-eyed and tired, make our way to the kitchen and start assembling school lunches for our very hungry, growing children. If your family is like mine, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are a lunchbox staple. But this year, I’m getting a little more creative with our school lunches and packing Peanut Butter and Jelly On a Stick.

Peanut Butter and Jelly on a Stick

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are a classic, kid-friendly lunch that I enjoyed as child and one that my kids love today. Jif® Peanut butter, Smucker’s® Fruit Spreads and Ziploc® Sandwich Bags are the perfect pairings for Back to School lunches. I like to pack my kids’ lunches in a combination of containers and sandwich bags. Ziploc® Sandwich Bags are great for portability (easy for taking lunch to school), Together,  Jif® Peanut butter, Smucker’s® Fruit Spreads and Ziploc® Sandwich Bags are my go-to products for getting ready for back to school by and can be used to create the perfect lunchbox solutions.

To make the Peanut Butter and Jelly On a Stick simply prepare and peanut butter and jelly sandwich as you normally would by spreading one side of sliced bread with peanut butter and other side with jelly. Press both sides together to form a sandwich and then take a small cookie cutter and cut shapes from the sandwich. I used a star cookie butter. From there, you want to skew the pb &j shapes on a stick (I used a lollipop stick) and place some fruit (like grapes, strawberries, raspberries) in between the sandwich shapes.

Place the pb&j sandwich sticks in a Ziploc® Sandwich Bags and add other snacks and sides like fruit, popcorn, water and treat and you have the perfect back-to-school lunch.
