Do you like to purchase souvenirs while on vacation? My favorite thing to do is collect Christmas ornaments travel souvenirs.
Having kids means travel souvenirs are almost a given. Nothing annoys me more than spending a ridiculous amount of money on some useless souvenir that will inevitably end up in the garbage. As the boys get older we have made it our focus to stop buying the junk and instead came to a compromise on something we would all enjoy, Christmas ornaments travel souvenirs.
One of our favorite parts of decorating the Christmas tree is pulling our Christmas ornaments travel souvenirs out of the box and reliving our the memories of that trip as a family with lots of “remember whens” and storytelling.
We have a theme for our tree which is red, white and whimsical. So my only requirement is that it has to have some red on it but other than that, the possibilities are endless. I like unique ornaments that tell a story of who we are, what we like and where we’ve been.
Remember Your Roots
When we decided we wanted to showcase our travels on our Christmas tree we made it a point to find a Christmas ornament that represented our home, which is our base and favorite place to be regardless of where our travels take us. I love this one because it showcases my love of New Jersey (I’m a diehard Jersey girl) and reminds me that home is where the heart is. I found this ornament at a national retailer. They don’t make the one I have anymore but you can find a similar one online here.
Christmas Ornaments Travel Souvenirs Show & Tell
NEW HOPE, PA
One of our first Christmas ornaments travel souvenirs purchase was before kids. My husband and I spent a weekend in >New Hope and wanted to remember our trip so we purchased this rustic snowman ornament from one of New Hope’s charming shoppes.
FLORENCE, ITALY
This was another ornament we purchased (before kids) when my husband and I visited Italy. We had a wonderful trip exploring Italy including Florence, Rome and Pisa and this little bear reminds us of that amazing trip every Christmas.
ORLANDO, FLORIDA
It’s impossible to visit the land of Mickey with out purchasing a souvenir, right? Lucky for us, we actually had this Minnie ornament before actually visiting Walt Disney World.
Somehow when we went to Disney we forgot to grab an ornament so we had a friend pick up this Jiminy Cricket ornament for us when she was there. They have the same one online here.
TURKS & CAICOS
Beaches Turks and Caicos was one of our most favorite trips. We talked about our time at Beaches here and here. We grabbed this adorable starfish Santa at the airport and it has quickly become one of my favorites.
REHOBOTH BEACH, DE
Last year my family and I went on a work trip to Rehoboth Beach, DE. It was our first time there so we wanted to remember our time together. We found this cute ornament at an awesome restaurant gift shop.
DUBLIN, IRELAND
In 2016 I went on a press trip with Guinness to visit the Guinness Storehouse. It was a huge trip for me, both personally as a Guinness lover and professionally because I was honored to be invited by such a prestigious brand. I didn’t attend the trip with my family but felt the trip needed a souvenir so I grabbed this little pint at the Guinness Storehouse store.
NIAGARA FALLS, NY/CANADA
This year my family partnered with GoRving for an RV trip to Niagara Falls. I have always wanted to visit the Falls with my kids so it was a big bucket list trip for me. We bought this ornament on the Canadian side of the Falls.
CANCUN, MX
We just returned from a trip to Cancun. We grabbed this ornament at the gift shop of the hotel. I love how authentic it looks and even without knowing it is from Cancun you definitely know it’s from Mexico.
We’ve been so inconsistent with purchasing Christmas Ornaments Travel Souvenirs and there are so many I need to catch up on. Here are some the locations we’ve been to where we forgot to get an ornament.
- Los Angeles, CA
- New York, NY
- Boston, MA
- Poconos, PA
- Chicago, IL
- Washington, DC
- Topeka, Kansas
- Dallas, TX
- Las Vegas, NV
- Thailand
- Paris, France
- St. Maarten
- Bahamas
- Puerto Rico
- Aruba
- Cabo San Lucas
- Puerto Vallarta, MX
- Mazatlan, MX
- Montreal, Canada
I plan to catch up on some of these if I ever visit the destination again or if I have a friend visiting there.
We certainly have some catching up to do, don’t you think? Moving forward I plan to be more consistent and make it a point to purchase Christmas Ornaments Travel Souvenirs with each and every destination we visit.
On your next trip, why not start a new tradition and start collecting Christmas Ornaments Travel Souvenirs as a way to document your travel journeys? It’s a tradition you are sure to love.
Happy Travels!
