Sip your way into Summer with a refreshing, cold Bourbon Mint Tea.

How is everyone holding up? Based on blog traffic, this COVID-19 quarantine has you making lots and lots of cocktails at home. As stay-at-home orders continue in many parts of the country, we are all getting a little creative at home and recreating our favorite dishes, desserts and cocktails from our favorite restaurants and bars.

I have heard from lots of friends and readers that cocktail hour is beginning earlier than ever thanks to quarantine. What’s that you say? You need more easy-to-drink daytime cocktails? Well, you are in luck. Today, I am adding another delicious cocktail to your rotation. This Bourbon Mint Tea is the perfect cocktail to enjoy outside as you enjoy your (at-home) outdoor oasis.

My Bourbon Mint Tea is highly drinkable and can be enjoyed at pretty much any time of the day. This simple cocktail features a few ingredients including black tea, mint, bourbon and lemon.

Bourbon Mint Tea

Ingredients
8 cups cold water
2 family sized black tea bags
15 mint leaves plus more for garnish
2 o ounces of bourbon per cocktail

Directions
Add the cold water into a medium sauce pan.
Turn the heat on medium to high.
Bring to a boil.
Once at a boil remove the pot from the heat.
Add the teabags and the mint leaves.
Allow to steep for 15 minutes.
Pour the tea through a strainer into a pitcher.
This will remove the tea bags and mint leaves.
Add 1 ½ cups of sugar.
Stir for 2-3 minutes
Allow the tea to cool for 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Cocktail:
Fill an glass with ice.
Add 2 oz of bourbon.
Top off with sweet tea.
Garnish with mint leaves.

I love this Bourbon Mint Tea because it is an excellent cocktail for entertaining (once stay-at-home orders are lifted) because it can be made by the pitcher, saving you from preparing individual cocktails for your guests. Until you have the green light for guests, pour yourself a glass and enjoy a quiet afternoon on your front porch.

ENJOY!
