Choosing a wine can be scary.
Choosing a wine around the holidays is even scarier.
The pressure of choosing the perfect wine for a holiday dinner or to give as a gift can easily turn you into one of those angry shoppers. Â If you are not a seasoned wine drinker, it can be a little intense and leave you feeling vulnerable and unsure of yourself.
But, choosing the perfect wine for the holidays (or any other day for that matter) can be easy and it can be simple. Â Enter SIMPLY NAKED WINES.
Simply Naked Wines is a California-based wine, launched in 2011, and is the nation’s first complete lineup of unoaked wine. Â There are seven varieties in the collection including Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Undressed Red, Moscato and Sauvignon Blanc. Â The wines are aged in 100 percent stainless steel, which allows the true varietal character to be fully expressed without the influence of oak.
Giggles, Gobbles and Gulps had the chance to try the Undressed Red and the Sauvignon Blanc.
Let’s start with the Undressed Red because honestly, who doesn’t like to get undressed?
Red wine is by far my wine of choice. Â I’m a fan, I’m not gonna lie and I have high standards when it comes to my red. Simply Naked Undressed Red was a smooth, fruity red with flavors of raspberry, plum, and cherry fruit. Â Light and easy to drink with a beautiful finish, this wine leaves you feeling fun and satisfied without the bitter aftertaste that sometimes taints red table wines. Â My husband and I enjoyed Simply Naked Undressed Red over dinner and it paired nicely with our meal and was easy to drink after the meal as well. It was unlike any other wine we have ever tasted – which is a good thing.

Definitely GGG approved.  We officially are a fan of Simply Naked Undressed Red.
Next up was the Sauvignon Blanc.
Nice and fresh is how I would describe Simply Naked Sauvignon Blanc. Â A beautiful, clear white wine with flavors of tangerine, lime and pineapple. Â The fruit in this wine tastes fresh and is refreshing which was very unexpected for a white wine. Â Easy to drink, sweet, not dry, and would go perfect with a light salad or fresh seafood.
Technical data for Simply Naked Sauvignon Blanc includes:
- Vintage: Â 2011
- Appellation: Â New Zealand

While I am not the biggest fan of white wine, this wine was definitely tasty.  If I had to choose I prefer the Undressed Red over the Sauvignon Blanc.
Otherwise, this one is also GGG approved.
Like the brand says, “it takes confidence to go unoaked” and with Simply Naked Wines, you can be confident in your wine purchase! Â Cheers. xoxo
