- 1 cup butter preferably olive oil butter or one with flaxseed
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons waster
- 2 tablespoons flaxseed meal
- 2 large eggs (one with added omegas0
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups of whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups of thick cut oats
- 1 cup chocolate chips or peanut butter, butterscotch, etc
- 4 tablespoons brewers yeast
- 2 tablespoons wheat germ
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Mix two tablespoons of flaxseed meal with water and set aside. Beat butter and sugars, add eggs and mix in soaked flaxseed meal. Add vanilla. Sift together flour, brewers yeast, salt and baking soda and add to butter mix. Stir in oats, wheat germ, and chips and drop onto baking sheet an inch apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Remove from baking sheet and cool on a wire rack. Store in airtight container or large storage bag.
