Some of GGG’s Top 10 Travel Destinations of 2016 were hosted thanks to generous invitations and offers.
As we prepare for another great year of travel I wanted to take a few moments to recap some of the amazing travel experiences of 2016 with GGG’s Top 10 Travel Destinations of 2016.
I traveled a ton in 2016. There were trips with my family and a few solo trips – each unique and memorable in their own way. Whether it was a long weekend or an extended vacation, travel was on our radar at various points throughout the year. Check out some of the places GGG went in 2016 and our most favorite travel destinations of the year.
- Lake Harmony – Poconos, PA
We kicked off 2016 with a ski trip with friends to Lake Harmony in the Poconos, PA. It was the first time we ever took the boys skiing and snowboarding and they did great. We loved the snow-covered mountains, retreating to our rented cabin and enjoying time as a family and with great friends. We are looking forward to our 2017 trip next month and can easily say we are officially snow bunnies.
2. The Lodge at Woodloch
After enjoying time with the family I retreated back to the Poconos – but this time solo – for a blogger weekend at The Lodge at Woodloch. I had just started a new job and needed a chance to recharge and refresh.
3. Disney World – Orlando, FL
In May we headed to Disney World for the coveted Disney Social Media Moms Conference. This was our second time attending the conference and the first time visiting the Orlando parks. We stayed at the Disney Beach Club Resort and had the chance to visit all of the parks. We were invited back this year for the 2017 Disney Social Media Moms Conference, but sadly had to decline due to a travel conflict. We will still have fun watching all of the conference activities from afar this year.
4. Ocean City, NJ
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my beloved Ocean City, New Jersey. We spend so much of our time in Ocean City during the Summer and we can’t get enough. We love this little island gem.
5. St. Maarten
St. Maarten was a beautiful Caribbean island that offered lush scenery, fun family activities and delicious beer. We had so much fun exploring this destination and spending some quality time on the beach.
6. San Juan, Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico is on my list of places to revisit soon. I feel so connected to the island because of my cultural background and all of the beautiful sights the islandhas to offer. If you go, make sure to grab lunch at Mojitos. So delicious. Trust me!
7. Nassau, Bahamas
Another location on my list to return to is Nassau, Bahamas. After having a brief taste of the Atlantis Bahamas Resort I already know it’s somewhere I must return.
8. Rehoboth Beach, DE
Another weekend getaway brought us to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. This was our first time visiting Rehoboth and we thought it was beautiful and relaxing. From the shopping to the beach and the delicious eats. If you go make sure to grab a bite at Crabby Dicks. So fun!
9. Dublin, Ireland
My dream trip of 2016 was my trip to Dublin, Ireland. I was invited by the Guinness Storehouse to visit their location and it was a true bucket list trip. I love beer and loved everything about Ireland. The food was delicious, the architecture and scenery was breathtaking and did I mention the beer. Stay tuned for more on my trip to Ireland – coming soon!
10. Mazatlan, Mexico
Lastly, to round out my trips and travel of 2016 I headed to Mazatlan, Mexico. This had to be my most favorite trip of 2016 (that didn’t include my family, of course). Not only was I surrounded by gorgeous weather, beautiful sights and forever-flowing beers and margaritas, but I also had the opportunity to meet some amazing fellow travel writers. These girls have quickly become some of my favorite virtual friends and I can’t wait for the next opportunity to travel with them again (PS – yes I’m wearing the same dress in two of the pics – it’s a travel go-to). Stay tuned for more on my trip to Mazatlan- coming soon!
Recapping my top 10 travel destinations of 2016 was fun. Can’t wait to see what travel is in-store for 2017!
Cheers!
