Have you ever wondered where you could get quality spices for all of your cooking and baking needs? I wondered just like you. Thanks to my friend Colleen, I not only discovered a wonderful resource for fresh, shipped-to-me spices, I also had the opportunity to try some of their products. Today, I am sharing a little bit about this awesome company as well as my latest dish, The Spice House Jamaican Jerk Chicken Quesadilla with Vulcan Fire Salt Guacamole.
The Spice House opened its doors back in 1957, and today has both a robust online business as well as 5 locations throughout Chicago and Milwaukee. They carry over 600 products from at least 50 different countries, including pure spices and herbs, spice blends, salts, and extracts and grinds and blends their spices and seasonings in small batches right in their stores. The Spice House Jamaican Jerk and Vulcan Fire Salt are two of my favorites.
Many of The Spice House spices come in pretty glass jars which fit perfectly in your spice racks or in-cabinet spice holders, however you can also order many varieties in bags (as well as in salt-free versions). The pricing is unbelievably reasonable and the quality is far superior than store-bought spices and extracts. Take a few minutes and check out their offerings. Let me warn you now – be prepared to be impressed and immediately hooked!
