I can remember as a child chastising my father for drinking his coffee black as if it was the most unimaginable thing. “How can you drink it like that?,” I would say in a tone only a twenty-something could get away with. Fast forward many years later and here I am in my mid 30’s, a now developed and evolved coffee drinker. I now drink coffee sweetener free with only a dab of creamer, and sometimes, I even drink my coffee (gasp) black.
Just as I have matured over the years, so have my coffee preferences. Gone are the days of hiding the taste of poor quality coffee with teaspoon upon teaspoon of sugar or artificial sweeteners. Not having sugar or sweetener in my coffee has made me more aware of how important quality coffee is. I now look for coffee made from quality ingredients, like Georgia Coffee, which is made with 100% arabica beans.
Having the perfect cup of coffee lays the backdrop for that perfect coffee moment we all yearn for. These days, my perfect coffee moment takes many different forms.
During the work week my perfect coffee moment begins at home and continues on my drive to work. Since day one of our relationship my husband has always made me my morning cup of coffee. As soon as I wake up I know he will have my coffee ready. It is the perfect way to start my day; not only do I know my husband is thinking of me but it is also one less thing I have to do in the morning and we all know how important a little extra help can be.
Before heading into the office I grab those final few moments alone in my car. My drive always includes a nice, warm cup of coffee. You can often see me driving down the highway, coffee cup in hand, jamming to my favorite tunes.
On the weekends my perfect coffee moment begins with a relaxing morning in my pajamas watching my favorite weekend news shows. It’s my time to relax and not be rushed by the school bus, morning meetings or sports activities. My weekends always begin with a nice, warm sip of dark roast coffee. If dark roast is not your thing then don’t worry, Georgia Coffee is available in three distinct roasts: Light Roast, Dark Roast and Decaf. I live for my Saturday and Sunday morning coffee routine – they are what gets me through the week.
Whether it’s a hectic work day or the beginning of a relaxing weekend, I always have coffee by my side. Coffee is my constant companion and my ideal partner for helping me start the day and seize those everyday perfect moments.
I never know what my day will have in store for me but I know my day always starts with that first sip.
Tell me, what’s your perfect coffee moment?
