Has Halloween crept up on you like it has for me? Sure, I can blame my AMAZING trip to Turks and Caicos for #BeachesMoms that I just returned from (more on that later), or maybe it’s just that since school has started my family has been busier than ever, but whatever the reason, I am way behind on all things Halloween which really bums me out because I LOVE Halloween. I usually have a ton of Halloween treats whipped up by now but this year has been a little different.

Because I was short on time, I decided to reach into my pantry for my latest favorite pantry-staple find, Krusteaz cookie mix, to make these fun Halloween Sprinkle Sugar Cookies. Krusteaz, a delicious brand of convenient, high quality boxed baking mixes, sent me some of their new Bakery Style Cookie Mixes to share with my family.

My favorite little kitchen helper absolutely loved whipping up a few boxes of the Krusteaz Bakery Style Cookies.

He had six delicious flavors to choose from including:

  • Triple Chocolate Chunk
  • Meyer Lemon
  • Double Peanut Butter
  • Brown Sugar Oatmeal
  • Oatmeal Scotchie
  • Butter Vanilla Sugar

We decided to use the Butter Vanilla Sugar to make our Halloween Sprinkle Sugar Cookies and also made a box of the Triple Chocolate Chunk because who can ever say no to chocolate chip cookies? Are you with me?

Once the sugar cookies were baked according to the package directions, we dipped one side of the cookie in melted chocolate (we used milk and white chocolates) and then dipped the cookies while still wet in Halloween colored-sprinkles.

The result is a fun and festive Halloween made in minutes with a semi-homemade feel.

To serve, I placed them in Halloween cupcake wrappers for a quick grab and go treat.

I can’t wait to give the other cookie flavors a try. I have to admit, I am a sucker for cookies and the Double Peanut Butter and Meyer Lemon are calling my name. You could even top some of the Double Peanut Butter cookies with extra Halloween candy, like those peanut butter candy cups, for an even tastier bakery style cookie. That’s what’s fun about using boxed mixes, you can use them as a springboard to kick-start a recipe or make them straight from the box.

Either way, you have to give these new Krusteaz Bakery Style Cookies a try. Enjoy!
