Aside from Christmas, Halloween is my next favorite holiday. I am obsessed and have Halloween decorations all over my house. Imagine my excitement when Pretzel Crisps contacted me and asked me to participate in their #CrispOrTreat contest? Could it get any better, Halloween and yummy Pretzel Crisps? I think not.
On lucky GGG reader will win a 3-month supply of Pretzel Crisps by sharing your fun Halloween costumes or decorations. All you have to do is snap a picture, mention GGG and Pretzel Crisps, tag the photo with the #CrispOrTreat and share on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Full contest details are below.
To celebrate and announce this fun contest, I decided to whip up some Halloween inspired dipped pretzels with candy melts and Pretzel Crisps. My youngest son is having a Halloween party at his school on Thursday and these will be a great “surprise” treat for the kids. I also signed up for fruit so make sure to check on my Facebook page to see what I come up with (and while you are there, give a girl a quick ‘Like’ to stay in touch with and follow my work).
To make the dipped pretzels with candy melts, I simply melted three different batches of candy melts, white chocolate, milk chocolate and orange, in the microwave. My batches took about two minutes to melt, stopping the microwave to stir every 30 seconds. I then used a bamboo skewer to assist with the dipping.
Once dipped, I laid the pretzels on wax paper and quickly topped with an assortment of Halloween sprinkles, colored sugar and candy corns. Dipped pretzels with candy melts can be customized for any holiday:
– Red and green sprinkles and toppings for Christmas
– Red, pink and white sprinkles and candy heart toppings for Valentine’s Day
– Green sprinkles and toppings for St. Patrick’s Day
– Pastel sprinkles and toppings for Easter
– Red, white and blue sprinkles and toppings for all of the summer’s patriotic holidays
The thinness of the Pretzel Crisp in this dipped pretzels with candy melts idea makes the end result taste more like a candy bar and unlike your average dipped pretzel. Here’s how my Halloween dipped pretzels with candy melts turned out.
What are you or your children going to be for Halloween? I want to see all those great photos so grab a bag of Pretzel Crisps and make sure to enter my #CrispOrTreat contest.
Contest ends November 2, 2013. Winner will be chosen on November 3, 2013 by the Pretzel Crisps team and announced on my Facebook page.
