Happy Birthday Gizmo!
My little furry baby turned 7 this weekend and we are big dog lovers in this house. I mean come on, I even have my yorkies included in my Giggles, Gobbles and Gulps logo.
My dogs are such a part of me and honestly, they have been in my life longer than my kids. Before having children Bentley (age 10) and Gizmo (age 7) were my babies. I was one of those crazy dog ladies who carried her dogs around in a bag. My dogs went with us on vacation and Bentley has even been outside of the United States.
These dogs have lived a great life and now, even after having children, they are still a huge part of our family. My children have grown to love the dogs just as much as I do so when they found out it was Gizmo’s birthday, they insisted on making him birthday dog treats. Luckily, I happen to own a Dog Bone Cookbook which includes a bunch of dog treat recipes so I knew I would find some great ideas for birthday dog treats.
We decided to Peamutt Butter cookies for Gizmo (and of course, Bentley too). You should totally check out this little cookbook. It is so cute and who wouldn’t want to make special treats for your favorite furry pooch. It even comes with a dog bone cookie cutter.
Here are some pic of our dog-treat making process.
I think these birthday dog treats would make an adorable gift for your favorite dog lover. You could make a batch and then put them in a cute jar with a bow and you have the perfect gift.
I love my little Gizmo and dedicate this post in his honor. Happy Birthday, Gizzy! Mommy loves you.
