Atlantic City was alive and well this past weekend.  Over 20,000 foodies flocked to the Jersey shore to attend the Atlantic City Food and Wine Show with the likes of Rocco DiSpirito, Robert Irvine and The Neelys.  Guests were treated to a fantastic assortment of food and drink as well as Chef demonstrations, meals and amazing after parties.

Gina and Pat Neely’s natural camera presence and charisma during a television show taping in their Memphis BBQ restaurant helped propel The Neelys to television Food Network stars.  During their roundtable chat the Atlantic City Food and Wine Show The Neelys mass appeal shined through.  As part of the interview The Neelys dished about Gina’s inspiring weight loss, her work with the George Forman grill, their cooking, the family’s recipes, their children and the next phase of their lives as they empty-nesters.

As part of the Atlantic City Food and Wine Show, The Neelys hosted the Blues, Brews and BBQ, Chefs on Stage, Beach Soiree, Gospel Brunch and the Island Luau.  At the Blues, Brews and BBQ, The Neelys’ famous Sweet Cola Ribs were served and take it from me, they were amazing.  Their secret to these awesome-tasting ribs is removing the fatty membrane from the ribs before cooking and glazing them to sweet perfection at the end of the grill time.

Sitting with Gina and Pat Neely was more like sitting with old friends.  They are open and real and appear to be enjoying every minute of their life.   Definitely check out their video interview if you haven’t already.
