If you know me, you know I have a thing for shoes. I am not in fashion much and could care less about my getting my nails done or the latest make-up trends. But when it comes to shoes I am all in. My shoe collection is a bit much but it is my one and only splurge. Now, add wine to the mix and I am sold! Imagine how thrilled I was when I was asked to check out STLTO Wine?
STLTO (pronounced Stiletto) Wine is a wine brand established in 2011 which pays homage to wine and fashion – two of the founder’s favorite pleasures. STLTO Wine is a female-friendly brand operated entirely by women, from its owner to the wine makers and those working at the winery.
STLTO Wine currently has five distinct wines in its portfolio. For this review I tried the Merlot, Prosecco and the Pinot Grigio.
STLTO Merlot is made of 100% Merlot and is produced using stainless steel fermentation. Tasting notes for STLTO Merlot indicates bright and fresh with a round, full-bodied mouthfeel. STLTO Merlot would go great with grilled meats and would be a great addition to any summertime meal.
STLTO Prosecco DOC is made of 100% Glera DOC and is produced in the Veneto from 12-year-old wines. Grapes are harvested in small lots by hand. Tasting notes for STLTO Prosecco DOC include persistent bubbles with juicy flavors of apples and pears. Perfect for just about anytime.
STLTO Pinot Grigio is made of 100% Pinot Grigio and is produced using stainless steel fermentation.Tasting notes for STLTO Pinot Grigio indicates a full, round and rich wine. There are notes of apricot, apples and spice and aromas of orange blossoms and honey. STLTO Pinot Grigio would go great with fresh fish or seafood dishes and is perfect when you want to sip something lighter.
STLTO Wine was designed to appeal to the growing female wine drinking population and is a nice choice as an entry-level wine and those looking to develop an appreciation for wine. The Prosecco DOC was my absolute favorite of the three varietals. I have developed an absolute love of Prosecco over the years and STLTO Wine did not disappoint. Both the Merlot and the Pino Grigio had twist-off caps making it an easy wine for a picnic or casual party.
STLTO Wine is definitely GGG approved!
Samples of STLTO Wine were provided to GGG to facilitate this review. As always, opinions are my own.
