I have always loved Ginger Snap Cookies and this recipe is one of the best I have ever tasted. XIX (Nineteen) Restaurant in Philadelphia agreed to let me share their awesome ginger snap cookies recipe with you.  Not only are ginger snap cookies delicious but the recipe is so easy even my children were able to make the cookie nearly on their own. This recipe is a great “Cookie with the Kid” recipe and also a good go-to, rainy day cookie recipe.

Here is the recipe and what you will need.

The boys were charged with incorporating the ingredients, breaking the egg (a favorite part of the cooking experience), rolling the dough into little balls and then rolling those cookie balls into the sugar.

The only thing I did was measure out and prepare the ingredients and place the cookie sheets into the oven. Everything else was in their hands.

Cookies are ready to go into the oven. They were so proud of their work and they did an amazing job.

And, here is the finished product.  Delicious and my house smelled heavenly.

These ginger snap cookies will stay on my cookie list for a long time. I even think they’d be great as part of your holiday cookie rotation.

  1. Yum! This is a good possibility for my upcoming Cookie Swap. I am impressed that you have the boys involved in the kitchen. It’s important for guys to know how to whip up something tasty. Working with Dante on that now. 🙂

  2. Loving the Step-by-Step pics of the boys baking! I don’t like Ginger Snaps, but I know a lot of people that do (my Dad). I think that this recipe is very similar to the one I use – great job sharing! And so good to get Those Kids COOKIN’!
