So there is no denying it, I am a ginger lover.  Ginger ale, crystalized ginger, ginger snap cookies, ginger tea – you name it and I like it.  When I saw Crabbies Ginger Beer at my local liquor store, I was immediately intrigued.

Crabbies Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer is part of the famous Crabbie clan, founded in 1801 in Scotland.  Made from a secret recipe and 4 top-secret ingredients, Crabbies Ginger Beer is some serious stuff.

When making selections for this month’s Malt Monday Beer Review series, I wanted to select a beer which pretty much summarized summer since today’s post happens to coincide with Memorial Day.  Boy, did I make the absolute perfect selection.  Crabbies Ginger Beer is an ideal summer beverage:  refreshing, low ABV and  a special thirst quenching quality.

The brand suggests the beer be served on ice with a wedge or lime or lemon.  I am not the biggest fan of fruit in my beer so I opted to serve mine fresh out of the bottle. When poured, it produced a nice foamy, white head.  A pleasant combination of citrus, ginger and caramel.   I expected more of a cider quality from this drink but it actually reminded me more of a beer.   It is the perfect balance of sweet and that classic ginger spice (not like the Spice Girl, Ginger Spice).

Crabbies recently released some new flavors to their catalog which I definitely plan to try since I  enjoyed the original ginger beer so much.  The question is, which one will I try first, Strawberry-Lime or their Raspberry flavors?

Crabbies Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer is so enjoyable.  I totally recommend it and of course, Crabbies Ginger Beer is GGG approved!  Love, Love, Love!
