Several weekends ago my blogger friends and I had a chance to retreat to paradise. We were invited by The Lodge at Woodloch Spa Resort to enjoy a few days of rest, relaxation and renewal. I was treated to a stay, as well as a spa service and meals, to help facilitate this post.

The time away was a welcomed retreat for me. I had just finished giving notice to a job that I couldn’t wait to be done with and also finished the first week of training for my new job. Needless to say I was in definite need of some time to recharge my battery and start this new phase of my life with a clear mind.

The Lodge at Woodloch Spa Resort is a beautiful, adult only resort located in the deep parts of the Poconos on over 150 pristine woodland acres with a private 15-acre lake.

The Woodloch is a full-service luxury spa that offers body treatments, massages, facials and salon services. When not indulging in spa activities, there’s a wide variety of fitness and wellness classes, outdoor adventures, creative discovery workshops, cooking demonstrations and wine tastings as well as opportunities for personal development through unique speakers and events available to keep you entertained and occupied.

As part of my stay, I got to experience one of Woodloch’s relaxing body treatments. For my treatment I chose the Lotus Cleansing experience. This cleansing treatment began with a nurturing cocoon of mineral rich mud, followed by a soak in spa thermal waters to continue the purification. The soaking was followed by a full body warm stone massage that left me with a feeling of deep relaxation and renewed energy. I almost felt like I was punch drunk. I saw my friend Colleen right after my treatment and she joked that it was the most relaxed she had ever seen me.

After my treatment we spent some time in the eucalyptus room, sauna and pools before retreating to our rooms to prepare for dinner. Our one-bedroom suite featured a King bed with pillows for days, seating area/ living room, a private outdoor area and a full walk-in bathroom.

Since I arrived later my first meal at the resort was dinner. For dinner we gathered at the TREE Restaurant and Bar. TREE Restaurant is the primary dining location of the resort. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. For my dinner choice I chose a filet which came with an amuse-bouche, sautéed brussels and a delicious dessert.

And, of course, no dinner with me would be complete without a cocktail.

With a few cocktails in us we spent the rest of the evening checking out other parts of the resort before finally heading back to our rooms.

The next morning, after the best sleep I’ve had in a long time, we woke up and headed back down to the restaurant for breakfast. For breakfast, the restaurant offered a fruit, cereal and granola bar which I indulged in before breakfast. I also took the opportunity to order some of their freshly made juice. The combination pictured was watermelon based and had lots of herbs and citrus. It was so, so fresh. For breakfast I ordered a chorizo omelet while my friend ordered eggs and grits. She indulged and let me take a snap of her picture before digging in.

After breakfast, I headed out to explore the grounds where paradise was truly found. Woodloch is a serene, pristine resort that offers the perfect touch of nature and elegance. I honestly did not want to leave.

Before heading home I sadly said goodbye to my blogging friends, and to the beautiful Lodge at Woodloch Spa Resort.

I’ve never had an experience like this before and it’s one I would certainly recommend to anyone. I absolutely love traveling and have had the pleasure of visiting some amazing places but my experience at Woodloch was unlike any other. I loved the idea of relaxing, recharging and spending time with my friends, something I don’t necessarily do enough.

Thank you to The Lodge at Woodloch for their invitation and for creating such an amazing retreat. I’d love to go back again soon!
