This week has been a little quiet, I know.
Last week was such a busy week for me and my day job that my blog had to take a back seat for my own sanity. It’s not something I like to do but it’s life and it’s real.
The week started with an amazing luncheon hosted by a dear friend of mine, Marilyn Russell of Ben FM. It was an opportunity to celebrate women, meet new contacts and connect with old ones and see some of the biggest movers and shakers in Philadelphia. I even got a chance to sneak in a photo with the keynote, Meredith Vieira.
She was so nice in person – like really. We chatted dogs, husbands and kids. She was the sweetest, making me an even bigger fan than I already was.
After working my tail off working on some pretty amazing projects at work I decided to take off for the weekend. Off from my home. Off from my kids. Off from blogging. I headed to my favorite place, the beach, with a friend for a little R, R & R – Rest, Relaxation and Retreat.
I checked my guilt at the door and spent an entire weekend focusing on me. I didn’t worry about the laundry that needed to be done at home or the schedule for the following week. Instead, we spent time walking, talking, shopping, eating, watching classic chic flicks and drinking wine. It was absolutely what I needed to feel recharged.
So, if I felt so recharged why was the blog so quiet this week?
Well, truth be told, because of my day job I do all of my recipes and blogging on the weekend, shoot the photos and then run the posts during the week. Very rarely do I have the time during the week to do blog recipes and photos. So because I was away I didn’t have the time to work on recipes or write lots of posts. It’s the truth and just how things go sometimes. Even GGG needs to take a break every now and then.
But a quiet week doesn’t mean we are lacking on excitement. I am excited to announce that it’s another national publication mention for GGG . I learned that my Peanut Butter and Butternut Squash recipe was picked up by Fitness Magazine and as the lead recipe nonetheless. It’s always a great feeling to see your work recognized so I’m excited to have another outlet to add to my “As See On List.” Pretty cool, right?
Anyway, that’s about it for this week’s Dishing with Linda series. I have lots coming up on the blog next week with even more planned for Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day so stay tuned and have a great weekend.
