It’s game time! This weekend is sure to be filled with all things football as we prepare for another big game. This year’s game features the Denver Broncos verses the Carolina Panthers. To help cheer for your favorite team, I will be sharing two specialty team-themed cocktails. Today, I’m kicking things off with the Broncos Cocktail.
This Broncos Cocktail is designed to emulate the orange and blue colors of the team and includes organs soda, vodka and blue curaçao.
It is rather simple to prepare and doesn’t involve any complex mixology skills. To start, I filled a glass with ice and pour 1.5 ounces of vodka into the glass. The vodka was topped with orange soda. To finish, I layered blue curaçao using a bar spoon to stream the blue curaçao into the glass. The weight of the soda and the liqueurs helps divide this drink and create a layered look. The orange soda rises to the top, leaving a dark blue-ish base on the bottom. To garnish, I included some maraschino cherries.
- 1.5 ounces vodka
- 1 ounce blue curaçao
- 3-4 ounces orange soda
- cherries to garnish, optional
- Fill glass with ice. Pour vodka over ice. Top vodka with orange soda. Using a bar spoon, gently pour blue curaçao over spoon to stream into drink. Liqueurs should separate to create a layered look. To serve, garnish with cherries (optional).
To make your drink even more festive, you could adorn your mason glass with white washi tape like they did in this tutorial. I’m not particularly the crafting type but I totally love the way this looks and it even looks simple enough for me to do!
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing my Carolina Panthers themed cocktail. Make sure to stop by and check it out and while you are at it, feel free to grab any of the recipes from this delicious round-up of 25 Game Day Bites. Between my cocktails and my game day food, you are certain to have an amazing football Sunday!
