Ready. Set. Vroom.
I recently took the 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring AWD for a fun-filled sporty week of on-the-go fun. The 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring AWD is a crossover SUV that comfortably seats five with a ton of extra cargo room.
This wasn’t my first Mazda experience. I had the chance to test drive the Mazda6 a while back and absolutely loved it so my expectations for the Mazda was pretty high. Luckily the Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring AWD did not disappoint.
The 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring AWD came with:
- 2.5L Skyactiv-G engine
- Skyactiv-Drive 6 speed sport mode
- All-wheel drive
- 19-inch alloy wheels
- Power assisted steering
- Front and rear stabilizer bars
Some of the exterior features that we liked included the variable rain-sensing wipers, heated power mirrors, rear privacy glass and power moonroof.
The interior features that stood out to me included the:
- 5 passenger seating
- Heated front seats
- HD Radio with Auxiliary jack and USB input
- 7″ color touch-screen display
- Rearview camera
- Multi-function commander control
My little commander-in-chief felt right at home in the Mazda CX-5.
Mileage on the Mazda CX-5 was what stood out in my mind the most from this test drive. I was able to travel all over the southern New Jersey area on just one tank of gas for the week. That included a pretty mileage heavy commute everyday to my work. It was crazy how economical this car was.
With an MSRP of $32,340 for the one I drove, I think the 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring AWD is a nice choice for those interested in a Crossover SUV. This might be the car for you if you need a little more cargo room but you’re not ready to take on the full size of an SUV.
See how much space I need with these two beasts riding around with me?
Gotta love it.
Special thanks to Mazda for giving me an awesome loaner for the week. Life certainly ins’t boring around here.
