The GGG Boys are at it in the kitchen again.  This time they are working on a Baker’s Passport Review.

Baker’s Passport is a mom-owned small business that offers children a fun and interactive experience in the kitchen that will help them improve their baking skills, learn and experience new languages, and give back to those in need.

To facilitate the Baker’s Passport Review we received a downloadable baking passport (a pdf file) that included a delicious recipe, step by step baking directions, and puzzles and games centered around a new language.  Baker’s Passports are available at the beginner level (which they call “little bite”) in three languages:  French, Japanese and Spanish.  We received the Japanese language passport which featured a sugar cookie recipe.  The boys read and followed the recipe, used basic math and measurements to complete a recipe, had fun using kitchen tools, appliances and cracking the egg while also reading, writing, and speaking introductory phrases, words, and numbers in a new language.

Check out this super cute video of the boys making the cookies while practicing their numbers in Japanese as they walk through the 10 steps.

Here’s the coolest part, for each and every time that you make a purchase from Baker’s Passport, $1 will be donated to Action Against Hunger, a global humanitarian organization working to end world hunger. No only are you encouraging your child to be comfortable in the kitchen and exposing them to new languages and cultures, you are also teaching them the art of giving back and the importance of social good.

I can tell you the Baker’s Passport Review was a complete success.  Not only did the boys absolutely love the Baker’s Passport and learning a new language, they also enjoyed doing something together while spending quality time in the kitchen with mom.

The finale of their Baker’s Passport Review were the cookies.  For nine, long agonizing minutes (in kid time) they waited by the oven, all while commenting on how delicious the cookies smelled.  The result – a perfect baker’s dozen of homemade sugar cookies.  Check out their awesome work.
