Day five of the 31 day March blog challenge is to talk about the favorite movies I never get sick of watching.
I am a little bit of a movie nerd and can quote lines from certain movies over and over. Often, my best friend and I from work will sit in our office, while mindlessly completing our day-to-day work tasks, and suddenly one of us will bust out a famous movie quote.
Most often, we find ourselves quoting this movie:
I am a total child of the 80s (born in the late 70s) and The Breakfast Club was the best movie of my generation. I watch it over and over without fail. It rocks in so many ways. Man, I love this movie.
Another one of my all-time favorites is…
When I think of the movie Grease, I think about my days in college. My roommates and I were obsessed with this movie. We watched it regularly and would sing along to every tune. I have to admit, if it’s playing on television, I immediately get sucked in and start watching.
Next up on my movie favorites is …
I mean, really, this is a classic. The Wizard of Oz reminds me of being a kid. When I watched this movie for the first time, I was so afraid of those scary flying monkeys. Those things are crreeepppyyy! I so can’t wait for Oz: The Great and Powerful to be released. It looks so good.
I also can’t get enough of this movie …
Now before you mock my choice, show some respect. Dirty Dancing holds claim to the best quote ever, “No one puts baby in the corner,” and then they all break out in dance. Love it.
Lastly, I have to include this movie.
I always thought Julia Roberts was beautiful and I have always had a crush on Richard Gere. I owned Pretty Woman on VHS and watched it non-stop. My favorite scene is when Julia Roberts (Vivian) goes back to the Rodeo Drive store and has this exchange with the store assistant.
Shop assistant: Hello, can I help you?
Vivian: I was in here yesterday, you wouldn’t wait on me.
Shop assistant: Oh.
Vivian: You people work on commission, right?
Shop assistant: Yeah.
Vivian: Big mistake. Big. Huge. I have to go shopping now.
These are the movies I can watch over and over again and never get sick of them. Of course, I have more refined movie taste and often watch intellectually stimulating movies, but you know what, I have a pretty stressful job and a ton on my plate and these movies help me forget all about my chores and tasks and take me back to my younger years.
There you have it, day 5 of the 31 day blog challenge. This was fun one. xoxo

These are also movies I never get tired of watching.
My husband makes fun of me for loving the Breakfast Club. He just doesn’t get it! His loss!
LOVE those movies! Great list. I made a Pinterest board for mine, and you’ve reminded me of a few to add! I adore Pretty Woman – could quote the whole movie. Can’t believe I forgot to list that one! “This bathroom’s bigger than the Blue Banana!”
How could I have forgotten Dirty Dancing? We have several movies in common.
I am seeing a few of these movies on others lists. I did actually see Pretty Woman. But here I am a Kansas girl and have Never watched Wizard of Oz. Come see why…

Paula – my husband is from Kansas! Believe it or not, I have actually been to the Wizrd of Oz museum in Wamego, Kansas. I am guessing you have never been
I LOVE the Breakfast Club. I mean, how freaking iconic is that movie?
Yup. I could watch all your choices over and over for life. Great movies.
The movies you listed are among my favorite as well. I have made my children watch them as part of their “education” of what matters in life. My college son was able to answer a trivia question about Dirty Dancing which stunned his entire class. How the heck could he know that? We go to the farmer’s market together and fight over who get to carry the watermelon just so we can spend the rest of the day telling everyone, “I carried a watermelon.” Good times! Thanks for reminding me of so many great memories. I needed that today.
